Home for Students One
In its 3rd year our first Home for Students has 39 students under the leadership of Samson Sriprasur and his staff.
Samson is a young Karen man who had a dream for four years to see a school/home built where Karen children could receive sponsorship for their education and be mentored while living within Karen communities. He also hoped to see these children learn skills that would set them up well for their futures. Connect3e has partnered with Samson and the local community to provide ongoing funding and mentoring in leadership for this project.
The students, from dangerous or difficult home lives, often come to us with one set of clothes and little confidence. For the past 2 years we have seen students succeed in both sport and academics. One young man, Suwit, just came first in the local 'Cross Country' combined schools competition. When receiving his award he said 'I have never been the best at anything, until now'. The children eat healthy meals, are warm at night, learn how to farm, learn English and are mentored in their schooling and leadership and much more.
